Villa Cardano — Local services in Como

Peter’s place is a realization of a vision to revitalize a matchless property. I would say this place is a destination in itself.

My wife and I visited for a weekend in March. Our visit included activities in Como and a wild drive up to Nesso. The ferries were swamped with people, hence the drive. After the bustle of the day, going back to the villa seemed twice as peaceful. I could imagine coming here and more or less just staying “home” for the whole weekend. We cooked while there and it was lovely to rest and relax.

The views are as advertised. I’m not sure there’s many places on that side of the lake—especially at the price point—that are so nice. I've attached a couple photos from inside as well as one from the roof deck to show that no matter where you are in the villa, there is a view.

Downloading “offline” maps on Google or Apple maps is extremely helpful for the entire area, especially the approach to the villa, because the whole area can be difficult to navigate. Overall, I recommend this place as...

This place was truly incredible to stay at. The views are so amazing and really are some of the best views of lake Como. The place was even better than expected. Everything was clean and ready for us and check-in was very easy. Peter was very helpful and thorough in his information for us and very responsive when we had questions. The large windows and fans provided a great breeze and kept the temperature inside comfortable. The only issue we ran into was not with the house itself, but finding taxis in Como was difficult, especially on the weekends. We were able to make it work but it might be easier if you are planning to rent a car while staying here since it is a little bit out of town. We honestly did not love Como as much as some of the other towns on the lake, but we would definitely come back just to stay at this place again. Peter was an excellent host. Very responsive and he provided a detailed list of services and attractions in the area. Villa Cardano seemed well known by a local pizza delivery shop. Check in was easy with access codes provided by Peter which allowed me to arrive as it was convenient for me. And the Villa was just amazing. I was traveling alone so I opted for the studio which was clean and spacious with big windows and lots of natural light. There is a private little patio out the back door but the rooftop deck was just amazing. I'll certainly be staying here again the next time my travels...
