Il Colle . Hmm. Our favourite part of our whole trip to Italy was spending 7 days with Giovanni at Il Colle. We got lost getting there, but Giovanni came to fetch us and guide us to this really quiet peaceful Agriturismo. It looks out of the way, but its really close to the AutoStrada and some great tourist locations. Giovanni has a real passion for his business, for his wine, his olives and his clients. Nothing was too much trouble. If you can spend more than one night here - DO. So peaceful, so rural.||We stayed in Apartment Eleonora -a little unit by itself with its own patio, where we could hear the roosters crow in the mornings, watch the sun come up over Poggio Alla Croce. We were advised to go to Vito's Trattoria for dinner, and Giovanni also organised for a cooking class for my wife there. Hospitality was excellent.||Highly recommended -Il Colle is a great agriturismo, but its the Passion that Giovanni has for his land, his friends, his olives and grapes that make this very special. Some minor things missing like the washing machine not working, but Giovanni tried to put things right, made contact every day, made sure we felt part of the experience. We would recommend Il Colle, and will go back there next time we're in Tuscany. Easy drive to Greve, Panzano,...
Read moreOur stay at Agriturismo Il Colle was an absolute delight! Giovanni, the owner, went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. The typical Tuscan country house is beautifully restored, offering breathtaking views of the Chianti hills and the city of Florence.
The apartments are thoughtfully furnished, providing all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay. The peaceful and isolated location allowed for fast excursions to art centers and the charming Chianti region.
What sets Il Colle apart is Giovanni's genuine hospitality. From the warm welcome to personally guiding us through the farmhouse and its history, he made us feel like family. His daily greetings, recommendations, and insights into Italian culture added a personal touch that made our trip truly special.
The attention to detail in preserving the farmhouse's history is evident in every corner. Nature trails, a quaint wash house, and a scenic pool with spring water contribute to the tranquility of the rural landscape.
Thank you, Giovanni, for not just hosting us but for sharing your passion and love for Il Colle. This is more than a place to stay; it's an immersion into the heart of Tuscany. Highly recommended for those seeking a genuine and memorable Italian experience.

Read moreWe are at last in transit from Florence to Arezzo, and in need of lunch. We left the motorway and ventured into the hills seeking an AgroTourism Winery called ‘Il Colle’ above a village called Greve. We had been told this was a must-see place and having visited, we wholeheartedly agree. Il Colle is in the heart of Chianti country, and the renovated farmhouse combines holiday rental with wine and olive oil production, and homemade salami, all done with absolute Passion and affidamento from Guiovanni.|We were welcomed like long lost family and in five minutes we were sitting on a high terrace, nibbling at a plate of cheese and meats, with a glass of deep red chianti from last years grape. There was a hilltop swimming pool, plenty of recreational space, stunning views of wine country, with its vines lined up like files on parade and a stunning, full-bodied young wine with plenty of aftertaste.|But the main attraction is the owner, a born showman who is absolutely passionate about his business and keeps on telling you so, literally grabbing your attention with his flailing arms.|A must visit, must buy and must...
