Getting to the top (Vetta) by car may be tricky for those who are not used to drive on narrow roads (with no guardrails) which are also in poor conditions. Nonetheless, once you get there, the view it’s absolutely amazing. On a clear day you can see the Aeolian islands, mount Aetna and a good chunk of the Calabrian coastline. In addition, the place is really into the wild as there is nothing around you for kilometres. The rest of Monte Cocuzzo is quite nice as well, I always enjoyed having barbecues and naps into the wood.

Beautiful place, amazing.. spectacular views but as often happens in Calabria, sadly, it's abused by many locals and/or many tourists that do not respect the beauty of the nature and magnificent locations as this one. What I mean is: people who leave rubbish here and there on the way to the top and at the shelter on top of the mountain: so much rubbish, including several dangerous items and tools such as a (supposedly/hopefully) empty gas tank and even some human feces left by someone very recently, most likely today or yesterday (let alone the empty bottles and all sorts of other things). I am seriously wondering how come someone who supposedly loves hiking and takes the effort of walking all the way to the top of Monte Cocuzzo could possibly find entertainment to leave his/her own feces inside the shelter ("rifugio"). Mountain lovers should be consistent and with that love and respect the mountain and fellow...
