Rio Carne — Local services in Pigna

We came to see the bridge and wanted to swim. We parked nearby along the road behind other cars. We got out and walked to the bridge and saw the shallow water. We still wanted to swim so we walked back to the car to change into swim suits. A police officer was at our car giving us a 30 Euro ticket. He said it was a no parking area. The sign was far down the hill and not another one posted nearby. He said we had to pay the ticket by tomorrow or it will double in price. The same officer was further up the hill earlier. We had driven past him and waved twice. We wondered why he was there and thought maybe he was taking his break in a peaceful place. However, he was obviously waiting to give people tickets. This place is a scam. I was so upset that we got a ticket for parking for 1-2 minutes. He had no mercy. I think locals know better and may enjoy this spot, but it is not worth going out of the way for. We are visiting from America and feel punished for wanted to see Italy off the beaten track. I’m so glad to go back to France. I’ll spend my money...

Il luogo ideale per sfuggire al calore feroce di Agosto. Ma non pensate di stare a lungo nell'acqua dei suoi laghetti (chiamati "lone" in dialetto), l'acqua ha una temperatura artica. Tuttavia, se ci si attrezza con panini, bibite e un buon libro, la giornata può trascorrere in perfetto relax. Almeno fino a quando la massa turistica non prenderà d'assalto le rocce. La macchina si parcheggia lungo la strada d'accesso, di toilettes nemmeno l'ombra. Se volete le comodità degli stabilimenti balneari, oppure i vostri figlioli non sanno saltellare sugli scogli, lasciate perdere, e cercate qualcosa sulla costa. Meno ansie, più servizi, anche se non a costo...

Wonderful place. Water is cold. Parking nearby is near to impossible. We parked in the town and walked around...
