This was our first experience in an agriturismo and we weren't quite sure what to expect...but we struck gold with Ciasa Pradel. The hosts were extremely welcoming without being overbearing. Sophia (mama) and son Giovanni overfed us with wonderful local recipes and ingredients from the farm - big breakfasts and 3 course dinners every night (they also have a really good wine list). The family made a real effort to share their love of local Ladin cuture with us and even took all the guests up to their alpine hut for a massive barbecue with the most incredible views. ||We were travelling with our 2 girls - 10 and 5 - who were constantly entertained either with the animals (rabbits, goats, horses, cows or a trip with Gofreddo in the 4x4 to see the pigs) or with the many games (trampoline, treehouse, babyfoot etc..). We were able to let them run wild and not have to worry.||We didn't use the sauna as it was so hot during our stay...but it looked great. Daughter Elisabeth also has a spa next door...but book early as it's hard to get a slot.||San Martino is a handy spot for exploring Alta Badia in one direction and San Vigilio/Fanes-Seres National Park...

The wine list is fantastic. Giovanni offered great wine and hiking recommendations. The rooms are quite large compared to standard European hotel rooms and it was nice to be off the beaten track. Highly recommended if you're looking for a quiet spot to enjoy all the hiking the Dolomites have to offer; it's only a 15-20 minute drive so several impressive hikes and huts. While the views from the rooms are mainly territorial, the grounds of the farm include goats, donkies, chickens-truly a small working farm. Guests can be as involved (or not) as they'd like to be in any of the...
