Also known as Gokodai, this viewpoint is the easternmost and highest of the three belvederes on the hilly crest separating Narusawa to the South from Lake Sai to the North. It is not however the best to view Mount Fuji because many trees prevent a wide vista. Going down east towards Fujikawaguchiko starts with a few steep sections and several possible paths, the steepest keeping to the left sometimes very close to plunging slopes almost looking like cliffs. Then the way negotiates a few more lower hills before reaching lake level. One of these hills provides a great and unobstructed viewpoint towards Fuji before the path goes back down under forest cover for one last time towards the modest but elegant Oarashiten shrine. There it splits, one branch to the left (North) reaching the lakeshore quite quickly and the other one going down the road before reaching Katsuyama Rest Area after getting on flat ground around the last slopes separating the hiker from the lake.
