The whole experience from booking and liaising before our Hokkaido Powder Belt 11 day trip to the pickup, accommodation and skiing around the Furano Tokachi and Tomamu areas was great. Even though the snowfalls at the time were small, Kaspar and Sam found the best of it for us. Sadly things went wrong for my wife on day 4 when she didn’t see a dropoff at the end of our run, falling heavily onto the road and spiral fracturing her tibia and fibula of her leg. Sam and Kaspar were professional and caring in the first aid, getting us to hospital and helping us through the whole experience. It’s great to have knowledgeable professionals when it’s all going well and even more important to have them when it doesn’t. You’re in great hands with these people.

These guys run a tight outfit. Super easy to work with. Met us at a resort one day and picked us up from our Ryoukan the other. They keep their backcountry gear in tip-top shape and take the time to make sure you fit right. We had skiers with a range of talents and ambitions and they did a great job of creating an experience we could all enjoy while challenging the best to some epic terrain. They hold a safety first, challenge and fun a close second policy. If you want to explore northern hokkaido these guides know the way.

Spent a whole week with Murray from ABG exploring the Tomamu region. Love the area and clearly these guys all spend a lot of time sussing out the best areas for whatever the weather throws. Original owner John is clearly passing his best secrets on! Can’t recommend enough and will be back.

We did a three day backcountry skiing experience with 9 high school students and 2 leaders and we had an unforgettable time. Brady and Murray were our guides and drove us all over central Hokkaido to find the best conditions away from the crowds. They were patient and fun with the teenagers and pushed them just hard enough. They were also open to adapting the experience to fit our needs and preferences. I would highly recommend...
