The campus building is amazing. It has huge open spaces with laboratories everywhere. It has a small gym (see picture) and a sports hall. The university shop and cafe serve high quality affordable products. The staff are extremely professional and kind. It is an ideal place to learn and grow as a scientist. Maybe the only shortcoming is that public transportation from Hakodate station to the University campus is suboptimal. The campus itself is like my dream idea of what a university should be like.

A must visit in Hokodate for fans of architecture and Riken Yamamoto. Very pristine, futuristic and well maintained building despite built a few decades ago. Do visit on a weekday and you can just enter by self registering and getting a lanyard. You’d need to drive here though as it is really out of the way. Amazing experience.

大学名の通り未来的な外観です。中はほとんどがオープンスペースになっており、教室もガラスばりで授業や実習の様子がよく分かります。山の中の立地なので、自然に囲まれ、駐車場も広く便利です。ただし、函館市街からは距離があり、交通の便としてはバスのみ。教育大や北大水産学部に比べると、その点が不便です。あとクマも出そう😆
