Visiting Mount Hakone was a brilliant experience from start to finish. The cable car and ropeway rides offered breathtaking panoramic views, especially as the landscape opened up to reveal the mountains and, on a clear day, even Mount Fuji in the distance. The Owakudani volcanic valley was a real highlight, with its bubbling hot springs and the famous sulphur-black eggs — a quirky local speciality said to add years to your life.

Read moreNice scenery but terrible if you don’t speak Japanese. The Tram was out of service going back down and they have zero worker helping. Even if one, they don’t speak English nor they will guide tourist that are trap up there. They did not provide any announcements. Lucky we have our tour van come up to pick us up and it must be hr wait driving up just for people to park their car. Then they provide a shuttle which you need to redeem your old ticket and with no one to explaining. Line for shuttle was over 100 people and waiting for hours.
