Ryokan Mokuzin — Local services in Hakuba

We booked this property for our very first skying holiday in Japan. Our experience was way above our expectations, and I will elaborate.||The property is in impeccable state; we found out this 26 year old property was renovated and improved 2 years ago. No shoes allowed inside, as it is all wooden flooring, with a warm and cozy atmosphere. Public area is spacious, duplex style, flooded with natural daylight, with beautiful views over the surrounding mountains. Internet is very strong, we could stream movies without a glitch. The public area includes a video projector with up to date sound system,||There are 11 rooms in this modern style ryokan. We had a room for 4 and still space for our luggages! (private toilet) There are several onsen available, although only one was operating when we visited.||There is a ski room - so nice to put on warm ski boots in the morning!||The owner is very hospitable is always trying to help. He arranged ski gear rental directly, provided pickup at the train station (and kindly helped arranging our trip to Nagano on departure). Resort location allows for true quiet and relaxing sleep and the owner arranged for private transportation to with a private bus to the ski resort of our choice. Hakuba valley provides several skying areas. We experienced Happo (20 mn driving), Goryu (7 mn driving) and Hakuba47 (10 mn driving).||This was already fantastic, but the best is to come! Food.||We had a feast - daily. Traditional Japanese breakfast and 6 course dinner each day, with different course every single time. I have posted some pictures to give an idea of the quality of the food presented. It was so delicious too! The host family treated us to a delightful Japanese-style breakfast and dinner. I was also particularly impressed by the Japanese-style interior design and the cozy room.
