we went around 8.30 AM and it was not so crowded but there are enough people that sometimes you need to let people pass or you can overtake them.

the trails itself is great, we had so much fun. it is divided as the boys trail and the girls trail. we used the boys one to go up since it is closer in distance, more challenging and fun, and also more scenic in my opinion. we used the girls trail to go down since it is more flat and not so much of climbing rocks.

we met wonderful and kind people from this hike that helped us throughout the way. overall, a really easy and fun hike. would definitely recommend even if...

Please note that the Japanese name for the mountain is Hiwadasan (not Hiwadayama).

Mt Hiwada is awesome day hike to do with kids. Even kindergarten-aged children can do this hike. We reached the lookout in just over one hour, so a return trip would be 2hrs.

The views are great, you can see the whole of Kinchakuda from the lookout.

There’s parking at the trailhead for a small fee and a convenience store just down the road, too.

ALISAN organic cafe is a great place to head for a bite to eat afterwards. And if it’s a hot day, head down to Aiai Bridge for some splashing in the river to cool...

It's a more hill than a mountain and it is quite easy to climb to the peak. The signboard at the starting point might scare people but even small kids can climb to this mountain. There are a few Rocky parts on the way but still very walkable. There are baffle plates throughout the route. The view from the peak is amazing. At the starting point, there are public toilets and vending machines. I highly recommend this trekking route. If you taking the train, you should get off at the Koma station and walk about 10 minutes to the...
