The biggest, warmest and prettiest of the four outdoor onsens (Rotenburo) at takaragawa onsen. I think there are locals who come for a casual soak without staying at the Ryokan as well. It's an absolute beaut, at least in the wintery season. The contrast between the snowy surroundings and the lush steaming spring water is pure magic. Puts you in a meditative mood immediately.

Changing room is a tad small esp when crowded, showers are not immediate...

3 bathing outdoor bath, 1 hot here.When I go near the Buddha, it gets hotter. Hot bath is too early for physical strength, so it's not good for so long. It is also good to cool the heat by half body bath. （it's not good to stay in the hot bath for a long time. because it's...
