芦刈温泉 — Local services in Kagoshima

This public bath has about 6 pools; 4 indoor hot ones that vary in temperature (1 electric pool? Not sure what that is), 1 cold pool and 1 outdoor pool. There is also a sauna to use before dipping into the cold pool. 🥳

Shampoo and soap are not provided but all amenities are available for purchase at the counter. Use of hair dryer is also chargeable so do take note! Lockers inside the changing rooms are 100yen per use but it’s just a deposit, they return the coin once you open the locker after use.

Adults are 460yen per head which is very reasonable and the staff there are so friendly.

I’m quite particular about cleanliness and this onsen is really not bad and parking is free too! Would recommend anyone who is...

鹿児島でもお気に入りの温泉の一つです。 お気にいりポイントを幾つかあげます。

1. 自販機やアメニティが豊富。アメニティは良心的で、忘れ物をしても数百円でフォロー出来ます。他にもソフトクリームや、果実酢、アルコール、ノンアル、食事処（時間帯注意）まであります。

2. 露天風呂に趣がある。やはりこれが重要。特出して立地や景色に恵まれているわけではないのですが、個人的に刺さる露店です。1年前の記憶ですが、秋には紅葉が見られたような気がします。

3. トイレが綺麗。裸足で躊躇なく入れるくらい掃除が行き届いて綺麗なトイレでした。温泉のような施設では、浴場の清潔感はもちろんその他の場所にも清潔感があると安心してリラックス出来ますよね。

4. 男風呂の常連さんのマナーが他に比べて良い。ロッカー室の七か条といい、サウナ室の注意書きなど、お店側の努力がうかがえます。実際に、場所取りや水風呂でのスクワットなど他の温泉でよくみられる光景をあまり見たことがありません。ただ、突発的に複数人で来ている若いのが、浴場で井戸端会議を1時間ほどしている場合がありますが、よく見る光景ですし、突発的なのでこればかりはどうしようもありません。
