Here's a list of places I don't recommend going in Tochigi:

1 Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art / Ceramic Art Messe Mashiko 益子陶芸美術館／陶芸メッセ・益子 — Free parking, ¥600 entrance ticket (not recommended). There's not much to see here. Photography is prohibited despite there being very little to photograph; most exhibits are photographs themselves. For a ceramic art museum, one would expect to see ceramics, but there are hardly any on display. The few ceramic pieces are in the shop, not the museum itself. I don't understand what justifies the ¥600 entrance fee. This place seems excessively profit-driven.

2 BUTTER NO ITOKO バターのいとこ Skip this overpriced store: ¥500 for parking and even dry ice is charged. I strongly advise against visiting it due to the exorbitant fees it charges. Not only does it charge a ¥500 parking fee, but it even charges for dry ice, which is typically a complimentary item. I recommend visiting the other shops nearby (Kumo-Izu Nasu shop 雲IZU or Candy Castle Nasu Heartland お菓子の城 那須ハートランド) instead, as they offer free parking and free dry ice with your purchase. Otome no Taki Falls is a 5m wide, and several 10’s of meters high, beautiful waterfall which flows from the Sawanagawa River from Mt. Shirazasayama, where visitors can see the many aspects of the falls in the different seasons and different amounts of water. Free parking available. ちょっと歩くだけで超ネイチャーな感じがスゲー良いぞ！ 真夏の炎天下に行ったけど、まず駐車場からすぐの観瀑台でひんやり ちょっと段数ある階段降りて滝壺はもっとヒヤッヒヤ この日は水量たっぷりで、乙女と言うには勇ましさが過ぎる迫力 マイナスイオンというか単なる水しぶきでとっても満たされていてさらに涼感アップ 日の光が射し込んでちょっと幻想的になってた 滝壺には三脚もちのキャメラマンさんたちもいた　わかる～ 川っぺりにも下りられるし、ちょっと歩けるっぽかったけど今回は遠慮した 滝壺に降りる階段がけっこうな角度で、帰りのお子さんなんかはとっても頑張って昇っていた 最終的にだっこするご両親がもっと頑張っていた 駐車場戻ったらあっちい！ このあとはすぐ那須...
