Osaka Nanko Bird Sanctuary — Local services in Osaka

From a birder's perspective, 5 out of 5 stars. Great views from the main building, plus people were nice even though I didn't speak Japanese. Both times I entered the building, a birder would come up and point out the Black-faced Spoonbill. There are places to sit if you want to take pictures, and a drink vending machine inside. There are numerous infographics around, though I needed a translation tool to translate to English. There are bathrooms outside the main building, and down a path. The ealking paths were short...

The access from the nearest train station to park was not family friendly, forced to walk along side several construction sites with heavy big vehicles going by. The park paths looks like it has not been maintained for months. The observatory deck is simple but dated. Very cool bird sanctuary. There are three observatories in total but the main one is a building has tons of bird infographics posted (in Japanese). There a binoculars you can freely use if you didn't bring your own.
