First time visiting Japan from USA.. Being a huge car fanatic and that of JDM especially.. I am well aware of what LBP is in the JDM world... I was on my way from Osaka to Nagoya.. For the main reason that was valuable to me... To go to the small town of Owariasahi within Nagoya ..
A place that is home to the world renowned creator of Liberty Walk Performance.. Wataru Kato.. I've only ever wanted to meet 2 famous ppl if I ever had the chance of doing so... 1st was Michael Jordan and while I never met em face to face I was able to watch him play live.. And 2nd is Mr. Kato.
A name probably unfamiliar to most.. However if you are into JDM cars and tuners.. That name is amongst the most familiar.
I only wanted to visit the showroom for liberty walk and check out their custom cars.. Never did I have the intention to meet WK.. And yet by pure luck.. He was there that evening .. Just hanging out with his staff at the LW Cafe..
We got the chance to learn bout his life's work through his staff members and what a truly humble person.. And got to speak to him as well... They have a new factory showroom under construction that isn't open to public yet but he allowed us to go see it and we were given a private tour of it with his social media manager Shato who equally was awesome to interact with.
WKs private collection of cars were at this new showroom and it was amazing to see and interact with.
The hospitality shown by the entire LW team was more than what I initially expected going in but was more than pleasantly surprised.
As a parting gift before we left.. Some merch was given by the staff as mementos and Mr. Kato was kind enough to autograph it as well.
Thanks to Mr. Kato.. Shato and the woman who interacted with us throughout (I apologize for forgetting your name) but all were very pleasant and made it memorable for a...
Read moreWe recently returned from Liberty Walk in Nagoya Japan. The trip was on my sons bucket lists and we made our way to the city just for the experience. The first staff member was great and even offered us a ride to see some more cars which was a thrill for my boys. Our driver was friendly and accommodating. Our issue was when we returned to the showroom to buy merchandise. It felt like I was being profiled as in every step I took around the store 1 guy in particular was always within two feet of me. It was very uncomfortable and obvious from his unfriendly demeanor that there was an issue. Did he really think that we would spend 16 hours on a flight to Japan, trek all the way to Nagoya so we could steal a sticker? By the way we spent over $400us in the store. This was such a distressing experience that I felt compelled to write this review. I am sorry that he has such a low opinion of certain American demographics. For me this ruined what was otherwise a...
Read moreWe’re Huge cars fans and this spot did not disappoint!!! From the second we walked up to our wave good bye the folks at Liberty Walk made us feel like we were all that mattered that day. Everyone made sure to say hi, ask where we were from, chat about our car passions and enjoy some time together in their cafe. The condition of these cars is perfect, the options are mind blowing and it was well worth adjusting our travel plans so that we could visit all of their locations including Tokyo and Osaka. Of course the headquarters in Nagoya was the best with their massive car collection and the most incredible part of this experience was meeting Kato-San! Thank you everyone. You made this girls...
