晃石山からほど近い神社。 いかにも山中の神社だが、けっこうサイズ感がある。 昔は、どこの山中にも人が住んでたり、人が行き交って、きっちり祀られてたんだろうね。 この神社も、今はまだちゃんと整っているけど、いずれもっと人も減って、朽ちて廃屋のようになってしまうのかな。 山歩きしてると見かける、石仏、石碑、社、祠。 かつての人々の営みの記憶。 数十年後に、どのぐらい残ってるのだろうか？ それを思うと、ちょっぴり寂しい気持ちになる。 ・・と思いつつ、次の場所へ。 以上。

晃石神社は晃石山の南側下にある神社で、こんな山の上に立派な社殿があります。晃石神社は729年の創建で、藤原秀郷の再建だそうです。現在の社殿は江戸時代の1825年の再建だそうです。 神社から晃石山山頂までは、0.1kmです。広い空間があり、ベンチなどあり山頂が混雑している時は、神社での休憩がおすすめです。神社からは参拝道の下山道が南側下の清水寺に降りられます。また、山頂をかわす巻き道があり、神社から、西側や東側の尾根道のハイキングコースに、行くことができます。
