奈良時代の天平元年（７３９）に立てられた寺。十一面千手観音像が祀ってあり、四季折々の風景を楽しむことができます。

蝋梅を観に伺いました。 蝋梅と水仙はとっても綺麗でした(*´∀｀*) …が！ 結論、スニーカー👟で行きましょう！ 駐車場🅿️は何ヵ所かありますが、下の方の駐車場からだと急角度の坂道を歩きます！ 水仙が咲いているのは奥行きの狭い階段です。手すりはあります。 蝋梅が咲いている場所は、石を敷き詰めた階段です。デコボコしていて歩きにくいことこの上ない(-""-;) 手すりはありません。 本堂から観音堂までは、「すぐそこ」と書いてありましたが、それなりに距離もあるし、坂道です。 本堂の下にある駐車場にトイレがありました。

この数年前から、ロウバイを見に来ています。駐車場に車をおいて、ドアを開けると、ロウバイの甘いいい香りが、車に入ってきます。その香りのする方に歩いて行くと、上の方に御堂があり、御堂に行く参道の両側に、ロウバイがたくさんあります。御堂に向かって階段を登って行くと、吸っている空気は、ロウバイの甘い香りの空気です。御堂に着いて振り返ると、関東平野が広がり、ロウバイの景色の中に、平野が入ってきます。また、本堂近くには、スイセン、菜の花も咲いていました。
