史跡鳥取藩主池田家墓所は、初代藩主・池田光仲（みつなか）の墓所として元禄六年（1693）、現在の鳥取市国府町奥谷を池田家の廟地と定め、光仲を埋葬したことに始まります。光仲の埋葬に合わせ、この地には「千岳庵」が建立されました。千岳庵は、翌元禄七年（1694）に伯耆国久米郡定光寺からその末寺の寺号を貰い受け、「清源寺（せいげんじ）」と改められ、池田家の菩提寺である興禅寺の末寺として、明治初年に廃寺となるまで墓所の管理を担なっていました。墓所内には、初代藩主以後の歴代藩主十一代、藩主夫人・分家当主等が葬られています。現在、合わせて七十八基の墓碑が立ち並び、周囲には二百六十基をこえる灯籠が供えられています。

珍しい亀🐢の台座で歴代の池田のお殿様のお墓が造られています。 亀の顔も少しずつ違っていて可愛い。

苔むした墓所には、モミジの木が植えられていて、蓮池や、サワガニがいる小さな川が流れているので四季折々楽しめると思います。

観覧料、駐車場等は無料

昔は、売店があり、脇には卓球台や、鉄棒などの遊具もあって楽しいところ...
