Matsubara Beach Resort — Local services in Tsuruga

In terms of beach this place in the Fukui region isn't my first pick at all... the beach is nice and the surrounding pine forest is beautiful but it's located in a bay so you have no real ocean view but instead you can look at a nuclear power plant which is so bad in my opinion. Again being in a bay means the water isn't as clean as an beach straight on the ocean and also the water isn't that nice blue/turquoise that you usually expect from a beach in nihonkaii. It was an unexpected visit - we were traveling from Fukui to Nagoya, and stopped by Tsuruga for a short stay. It was a tiny and clean city. The beach was impressive and the family did have a lot fun. One thing to bear in mind is the bus time if you have a plan to go back to the train station to keep on travelling. There were not many buses and you typically have to take some walk to the nearest bust stop, try not miss one or you have to wait for quite some time...
