In terms of beach this place in the Fukui region isn't my first pick at all... the beach is nice and the surrounding pine forest is beautiful but it's located in a bay so you have no real ocean view but instead you can look at a nuclear power plant which is so bad in my opinion. Again being in a bay means the water isn't as clean as an beach straight on the ocean and also the water isn't that nice blue/turquoise that you usually expect from a beach in nihonkaii. The beach was impressive and the family did have a lot fun. One thing to bear in mind is the bus time if you have a plan to go back to the train station to keep on travelling.
