Absolutely gorgeous. Greeted with warmth from the innkeeper, staff, and the surroundings. What a dream to stay in a traditional style building on a beautiful mountain. The chance to wear yukatas and marvel in the architecture of a wraparound veranda to our tatami room was one of a kind. Hida beef shabu shabu dinner and traditional breakfast were also delights. There’s a wonderful bath that smells of fresh cypress.
The kind innkeeper also offered to drive us back to the station and gave us umbrellas when we wanted to hike. The whole experience was so special and memorable, thank you.
If you aren’t driving, would recommend packing a small overnight and forwarding your luggage from the previous location to your next location as the walk is uphill and they’ll have everything you need...
Read moreThe inn has a long history that goes back to the Edo period but has been renovated several times and even has wifi. The toilets and bath appear to be very new. We stayed in the Sakura no Ma room with a view of cherry blossoms but March 30 is still a bit early to see them in full bloom. The nabe dinner and breakfast were fantastic.
