I liked the experience here. You feel the effect of being close to Mt. Kenya forest with all the greenery and cool weather. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. You get a guide after paying the entrance fee of Ksh. 1,000 per person for locals.
What I liked most is how close you can get to animals and interact them. Note that they are in the process of rewilding the Mountain Bongo, so they no longer keep them in cages. I was lucky to see one in the paddocks but it was undergoing treatment and will be released eventually.

It is very sad to see animals in small enclosures knowing they will never be free (fact affirmed by the staff)… is it worth torturing animals at the expense of so-called education?
