We always come the the Lazy B resort when we come to Lebanon from the US. Pros: quiet, natural beauty, relaxing, no loud music, lots of space. Cons: this time the family pool was super cloudy/dirty/had lots of hair in it. The food is not great and certainly not for the price. The sea is, of course, not clean, but, it is acceptable compared to other beach resorts (they try to pick up trash, etc). The service is way better during the week than over the weekend. We felt rushed on Saturday. They stopped taking orders at 5:30p. They rushed our check payment saying they had to close the tables. They tried to charge us for ice even though we had been earlier in the week and not paid for it.
Dear Georges - Your comments in return exemplify exactly what is wrong with your establishment. Instead of addressing reality, you are being defensive. I would love to return and probably will, and would even be happy to do so if some issues are addressed. Let me be clear, The pool: I was at the family pool during the week and then again on Saturday. I was at the pool from 2:30-7p on Saturday. NOT once was the pool checked. NOT once was there any management there. The pool was clean during the week and dirty yesterday. You may want to check the dual filtration system. I have no interest in saying anything negative that is not true. I have no benefit. I want your business to succeed. The food: I am not the first reviewer to say something about the quality of the food. I will certainly not be the last unless things change. During the week we sat at the restaurant and spent well over $200USD for a family of 4. I gave the manager constructive feedback about the food. Most everything we ordered was delicious except two items. I literally stated: I have some constructive feedback for you about these two items everything else was delicious. His answer was to deny the fact that I thought two of those items were not cooked well. Again denial is not going to get you anywhere with respect to your business. The sea: my comment about the sea had nothing to do with your establishment. The comment was about the Lebanese sea in general which is extremely polluted. And yes, in spite of the fact you had a net up, there was still plastic in the swimming area, which is not your fault, it is a result of the pollution in the country. Oh, and since you brought up the jellyfish, I’ll go ahead and address that too. I saw the lifeguards pull out the jellyfish. They don’t need to kill them. It is ecologically the wrong thing to do to pull out sea wildlife and kill it for your patrons. There were also people “crabbing” by the rocks. They were catching them and then smashing the crabs on the rocks. Totally unnecessary! Your lifeguards should be instructed to discourage this. There are better ways to coexist with nature. Finally, service time: I specifically asked to order a glass of wine and a beer at 5:30 and was denied stating that service was closed. Again, I have no benefit in stating anything negative. It is in my best interest to see your business thrive as I am required to come to Lebanon for family reasons fairly regularly. I’d love to continue to have a nice place to come to when I am here.
If you’re interested in having a direct conversation with me about any of the above, please feel free to leave instructions on how to reach you and I will...
Read moreI visited Lazy B this summer—one of my all-time favorite resorts in Lebanon. The setting is simply beautiful: calm, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. No loud music, no argileh, just nature and relaxation. The beach is sandy, the design is tasteful, and the grounds are filled with hibiscus trees and lush greenery. It’s truly the perfect escape for anyone looking to unwind.
That said, I gave it 3 stars for two very important reasons (and honestly would have rated it lower if it weren’t for how stunning the place is).
The Food & Restaurant/snack setup Lunch was disappointing. The food is overpriced and underwhelming—greasy, with tiny portions. For example, the adult-sized burger was no bigger than a kids’ meal, and the shrimp rolls barely contained a full shrimp. We were still hungry and ended up eating a second lunch after leaving.
To make things more frustrating, the way they’ve set up the restaurant and snack bar is confusing and impractical. While the menus overlap, you’re only allowed to order from one depending on where you’re seated. We were actually asked to move from our table near the restaurant back to the pool area because we wanted to order a watermelon salad (from the snack menu) along with items from the restaurant. It felt unnecessarily rigid.
Poor Customer Service & Questionable Practices There were several moments that felt more about squeezing money out of guests than offering a good experience:
• We paid for lunch in cash, and the waiter said he didn’t have change—then simply walked away without trying to resolve the issue. It felt like a deliberate tactic to pocket the difference. • Parking cost 500,000 LBP, and we had 450,000. Despite everything we’d already spent, the parking attendant refused to let it go. So we suggested he collect the 50,000 from the waiter who still owed us change.
I genuinely love this resort and want to keep coming back. I hope management takes this feedback seriously—it has so much potential to be exceptional if the service and pricing practices are aligned with the beauty of the...
Read morefirst of All, this review is coming from someone who has personally talked to LazyB management before and has been a tourist customer that specifically goes here from Spain 5 times a year for the past 6 years.
Views/Nature : 10/10, it couldn’t get any better, Bravo on the no music no partying policy, the cleaning staff is doing an incredible job and you always see them with a smile on their face, even the people with the blue shirts who helped us sit were respectful.
Food : 0/10, To SPECIFICALLY come here for the fish and for us to ask the waiters twice if there’s grilled fish at 12-1 PM only for them to tell us that there isnt is a huge disappointment to Lazy B menu, its easily the best resort in Jieh and for it not to even have fish on a sunday 1 pm (we’ve visited 3x before and all times it was sold out early on the day) is very weird for a meza/seafood based restaurant and i hope it chqnges.
•The Calamar provincial smells weird and tastes bad, the Bizri is oily, the fries portion is small (understandable), and the Fish and Chips portion comes with ONE FILLET!! A large sized fillet would’ve been understandable, otherwise two fillets should be the standard.
Service : 4/10, All restaurant waiters were respectful, professional and helpful so i’d give them an easy 9/10, chapeau bas, but the poolside and beach service gave us a bad experience, starting with one on the workers on bar dropping a cup of ice and putting the ice back with his bare hands, add to that the constant cursing and childish playing while we wait for our orders, and when they finally decided to give us our warm beer after all the time wasting they said the bar doesn’t allow replacements, shame really.
•Overall its my favourite resort in the region which i hope reads this review and only gets better from there, because you really can’t find a non party themed, calm, gorgeous landmark like this one, which was unfortunately riddled with occasionally bad service and ridiculous food options...
