I had the pleasure of going on a tour with Jungle Walla. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature and learning about conservation. We initially went on the kayak tour and due to the hot spell, our guides changed the tour format to a river cruise. Our guides, Encik Shahrool Anuar and Miss Husna, were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the environment. As someone who is always open to learning more about nature and conservation - we learnt so much more about the mangroves, the orang Asli, and the importance of conservation
We really enjoyed their friendliness and professionalism. The boat ride also allows guests to enjoy the beautiful views of the river and the ecosystem. Both guides are very knowledgeable about nature, conservation and the local orang Asli. Miss Husna gave us detailed lessons about the mangrove, conservation efforts and other stories. Very passionate indeed, which is their special quality.
I also appreciated that our guides were so friendly and engaging. They made sure that everyone on the tour was having a good time, and they were always happy to answer our questions. My daughter especially enjoyed the tour, and she learned a lot about nature and conservation.
If you're looking for a fun and educational way to spend a day, I highly recommend going on a tour with Jungle Walla. You'll learn a lot about the place you are touring and you'll have a great...

Tidepool Discovery - Udin was friendly, patient and knowledgeable, spotting wildlife and sharing interesting nuggets of information with us. The location itself is lovely - quiet and scenic with lots of tidepool creatures to discover!
Bukit Belungkor hike - Fitri was also approachable, patient and knowledgeable, waiting for us early in the lobby, getting us to do a warm up, and pointing out interesting plants during the hike. We were warned of possible slippery slopes before the hike and came armed with hiking poles. The summit view was lovely!
Both guides texted us one day before the outings, and they came prepared with raincoats for us in case of rain, as well as water, bread, insect repellent. Much appreciated.
Would have been good to be informed upon booking, regarding the appropriate footwear, so that we can prepare before we head out to Desaru from our home country. It is recommended to wear booties / thick soled shoes or sandals for the tidepool discovery, and hiking boots for the Bukit Belungkor hike.

Read moreIt was definitely an insightful moment on the Lebam River Cruise to see and experience the mangroves of Desaru. Our guide Shairul was extremely knowledgeable about the area and it's wildlife as he shared so much that we had never known about. I'm glad that my kids brought back something that we could have never taught them ourselves! Even the adults learnt so much from the short 2 hours with him! It was a very enjoyable ride, and we'll definitely be back for another ride outside the monsoon season.
Learn from my mistake and contact them first to arrange pick-up or get the address of the start point if purchasing directly from their website as there's no option for that. All in all, we loved...
