Well, I was there this weekend, and it was an eye-opening experience. Beautiful spot, this isnāt your usual shopping outlet I tell you. Read on.
Now this wasnāt the first time I heard of Freeport AāFamosa Outlet, but this was my first time going there in person. This time around, not only did I go there to check out the place, I went with a bunch of like-minded friends, and my, it was an awesome experience. Group shopping is definitely different from shopping alone, especially at a place like Freeport. We wanted to see what is unique here, and it did satisfy all our curiosity.
Located A Short Drive Away from KL!
Reaching early in the morning, the journey down to Freeport AāFamosa Outlet took only an hour and a half, not as far as I expected. Heck, if itās this short a distance, I would think I could come down every other weekend. The location is just next to Alor Gajah and Tampin, we donāt even have to drive down to Melaka town (you know how the traffic!), as we exit before the toll to Malacca town.
Parking was relatively easy, even though there were already so many cars which arrived earlier. I can see how this place would be very popular with the local crowd. Thereās ample parking, so worry not.
The architecture of Freeport AāFamosa Outlet is unique, itās open with lots of sunshine and natural breeze, yet everything seems so structured, with many brands in one location. Branded, yet affordable, I didnāt think we could put these two words in one sentence, until I arrived here.
Beautiful Place with lots of Nice Spots to Snap Photos!
In fact, not only can you do your Raya shopping here, thereās a lot of nice spots to snap an Instagram or photo of your choice, from the unique architecture āhousesā and buildings, to the water fountain, as well as a really large āwind millā in the middle of Freeport AāFamosa Outlet. Many folks climbed up to snap pictures there! Kids , and adults alike will find lots of fun and excitement here.
Donāt worry about food, as there are multiple restaurants, kiosks, and fast food outlets located in the vicinity. While we were walking around, as it is still Ramadan, and folks are fasting, we took the chance to shop more instead of eating.
One of the notable shops I got a chance to go in would be Carlo Rino, Leviās and Puma where thereās just so many discounts to be found. From Buy 2 free 1, to 50% discounts and more, how can you not love this place?
Many Shops with Great Discounts!
We even entered this shop full of toys for the kids, aptly named Toy World. What a place, you could get original toy merchandise at discounts, definitely a place for the kids to come in.
After that, we did check out some sports shops, Puma, Body Glove, Skechers and Li-NIng. In fact, one of us even got a bargain basketball shoe from Li-Ning. From RM400+ the discounts lowered the price of the shoe he wanted to become only RM150+, a bargain indeed!
Everyone left Freeport AāFamosa Outlet, Melaka feeling satisfied, in one way or the other. If you have not visited Freeport AāFamosa Outlet, Melaka yet, you must take the chance to head over there for your shopping needs! Get lots of wonderful bargains, from gifts, to great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited the Free Port A'Famosa Outlet, and while it offers a great blend of interest and shopping opportunities, there are a few aspects to consider. The outlet boasts a variety of cafes, restaurants, and sports outlets, making it a diverse destination for both tourists and locals.
One noticeable drawback, however, is the lack of attraction and marketing awareness. During my visit, I noticed that there weren't as many tourists or even locals as I would have expected. This suggests that more effort is needed to promote this hidden gem and its offerings.
The selection of stores is impressive, with a wide range of brands and products available at discounted prices. However, without proper marketing and attractions to draw people in, the outlet may remain underutilized.
I hope that the local tourism authorities recognize the potential of Free Port A'Famosa Outlet and take steps to rejuvenate it as a must-visit destination. With the right marketing strategies and perhaps some additional attractions or events, this outlet could become a thriving hub for both shopping and entertainment. Overall, it's a promising place that just needs a bit more attention to reach its...

The Outlet Building was only one floor, but sprawled over quite a huge area. The design seemed to be of Dutch Colonial themed or inspired, and they looked quite magnificent. I was impressed by the giant windmill located in the centre, which was a major attraction for the visitors. There was also a carousel or merry-go-round, but was not patronized somehow. Most visitors appeared to be contented to just sitting around, soaking in the festive atmosphere...
The Chinese New Year festive feeling was still in the air. Hence the patrons were mostly chinese families, who had come here as part of their holidays and celebrations. There was also a malay wedding ceremony happening at the Banquet Hall, with various mix of people attending the event.
Other than that, I didnt see much shopping going on, or maybe it was because the CNY sale was...
