Bukit Terisek @ Teresek - Locality at the Central Part of Taman Negara National Park Kuala Tahan in Pahang Darul Makmur, Malaysia. It's one of the best places with spectacular views and birds watching, flora and fauna across the National Park. The hike can be done with or without a guide at the high altitude. A lot of steps at Boardway/Boardwalk Trail making it moderate (30-45 minutes/1.7 km/one way easy route). The Jungle Trail (2.5 hours ++/one way) start from the a flat part not far away from the river. The distance will be trekking along the steep path through the lush green rainforest that stretching away on all sides. It's a loop, a boardwalk also towards Lubuk Simpon which's suitable for take a dip at the shallow and fresh water. A bit hard and sweaty but definitely worth it. You'll be at the 1st look-out, the sandstone exposed representing of the bedrock over most of the National Park. From there you can see the panoramic view of Tembeling River and Taman Negara National Park boundary. Within 15 -20 minutes you can continued walk/hike up to the 2nd look-out, a superb view to the valley, hills and mountains in the centre of National Park. The river below and Mount Perlis (1280 m/asl) is more visible than observation. You also can see the Great Cave (Gua Besar) in the Keniam Valley and Mount Tahan, the peak with the height of 2187 m above sea level which's the highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia if the weather is favourable... 🤔 🤗

Ventured to Bukit Terisek and wow, what an experience! The trek to the viewpoint can be a bit of a stretch, taking anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on your pace, the path you choose, and the weather conditions. So, pack your patience and some good vibes! If you’re coming from or heading towards Lubuk Lesong, be ready for some slippery trails - they’re quite the challenge but totally part of the adventure. The view from the top? Absolutely worth every step. It’s a panoramic feast for the eyes that you’ve got to see to believe. A little tip for the thrill-seekers: some routes are not recommended to tackle solo, but I went for it anyway and loved the extra thrill. Just be cautious and prepared. Bukit Terisek is not just a hike, it’s a journey filled with awe-inspiring views and a satisfying sense of accomplishment. Don’t miss out on this gem! 🌿🏞️

One of the trails you can easily walk without a guide. The rangers will say it's about 2 hours from Mutiara resort but with photo taking and trying to see animals like gibbons, macaques, birds, snakes, insects, plants plus the steps... Easily 2+hrs and that is if your knees and heart is ok. If not, it can be longer.

The last 500m are not on the boardwalk. So it can be slippery up and down.

The boardwalk is mostly flat til about a km in then it's higher gradient and slowly steeped.

To go in, you pay Rm1 each for the boatman to bring you over. Entrance is Rm1, at the building behind the Mutiara reception. Each camera & smartphones is Rm5. The tickets are valid for your entire stay, ie multiple days multiple entries. Don't lose...
