Probably the biggest tourist trap in Malaysia. Avoid if possible.

The place is being treated as the cashcow it is: opening 9 o'clock? Nah, 9.30, maybe, if the staff is willing to come out of bed.

Then, you are advised to read the "rules", one of which is "keep quiet". In the meantime, staff is walking aroud with petrol-powered leaf lowers in the forest and along the whole length of the walkway. Birds, monkeys, even the snails are running away as fast as their feet can carry them.

A former guide, with 20 years experience, already warned before: "in recent years, all wildlife disappeared deeper into the forest. To many people here". So he quit and opened a restaurant at the river to earn money. We now know why!

Supposedly, this is the longest suspended canopy walk in the world. True, but only if you take the lower parts at about 3 meters high into account. Trees here are nice, but certainly not worth the journey from KL on one day like many do. Malaysia has so much more and so much better to offer than this.

We see birdwatchers, first time Malaysia visitors and families, all coming with high expectations that all aren't met.

Steer away, this is...

Really beautiful on the walk we even saw some monkeys. That being said the wait is 2-3 hours on weekends because they can only have a few people on at a time. You always have someone 10 meters behind you so you can't really enjoy the walk. If you are scared of heights or wobbly bridges skip this one. You can only take photos on the platform.

My advice: Don't go on weekends or school holidays must consider ( Malaysian public holidays, Muslim holidays, Chinese holidays, Hindu Holidays, European, Asia and America's holidays)

If you do go during one of these times go to the canopy walk right when it opens to be the first in line or around 2pm right before it closes. The walk only takes about 20 mins despite waiting...

This is a throw back review when we were at the National Park in 2023. Currently in October 2025, the canopy walkway is still under maintenance. After the trek to Terisik Hill, on the way down we went to the canopy walk before going back to our chalet to rest. The canopy walk is a good experience. It seemed like walking among the trees, high up in the air. Hopefully the maintenance of the Canopy Walkway can be completed soon so as to give the visitors the opportunity to have this unique experience.

It's okay. Cheap thrill walking through the trees. It didn't feel very long and didn't see any wildlife. The walk doesn't open until 9:00am so don't bother going too early like I did. Had to wait until about 9:20am for them to 'open shop' and use a blower on the walkway. The loud petrol blower is probably why I didn't see any wildlife 🤪

Just did the Canopy Walkway at Kuala Tahan National Park, and it’s an easy 5/5! It’s a unique way to see the rainforest from above. Paying is hassle-free - either 5RM on the spot or at the park office. I walked it alone for a more personal experience, though it can get busy with tours. A must-try for a mix of tranquility and adventure!
