This jetty is one of the gateway into Redang Island. Redang Island is an island in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, Malaysia. It is a well-known and well-relaxed resort in Malaysia with its white sand, located in the waters of the South China Sea is one of the nine islands that make up the Redang Islands marine park, as well as an important turtle conservation site.
The waters around Redang Island also contain two historic wrecks, namely H.M.S. Prince of Wales and H.M.S Repulse which were submerged here at the beginning of World War II and created an atmosphere for the Japanese occupation of Malaya.
Other nearby islands include Pulau Lang Tengah, Pulau Perhentian Besar, Pulau Perhentian Kecil and Pulau Bidong, also located on the border of Terengganu, and Kelantan.
