Wow absolutely best tortellini I have ever had! I had the tortellini with mushroom bacon cream sauce and it was spectacular. It tasted like chanterelles although the waiter said it was "just regular mushrooms". Cooked to perfection, so so flavorful. I wish I could come back tomorrow. We also got the special of fresh pasta with spicy beef fillet and mushrooms, almonds, and cream sauce and it was also excellent. All the pasta was cooked al dente perfectly and so fresh. Everything was seasoned just right. I also very much enjoyed the spaghetti bolognese that my aunt got, the tomatoes were so flavorful and the sauce was delicious. The side of seasonal vegetables were cooked so well too and fresh. Other dishes we got were the ravioli and the special: roasted quail with fried cabbage, and everyone enjoyed their meal. I can't speak highly enough of this restaurant, the food was perhaps the best food I've had all year, definitely the best food I ate in my entire Malta trip. Service was also very attentive, warm, and friendly. The atmosphere is also quite nice and romantic. We were recommended to go here by our tour guide Christian on a Maltese Food and Wine Tour (Merril Eco Tours), as they use many local ingredients from Malta. I would recommend anyone coming to Malta to come eat here. Hope to be back again one day! Thank...
Read moreSeriously you guys, you don't know the wifi password and just tell me to use the neighbor's (which I could only use inside)? And what's with the no oatmeal/soy/almond milk situation? The guy didn't listen very well when I placed my order and as a result the egg was missing. Also, he just announced that it was gonna be bread instead of a wrap, which I didn't want, but it's nice if you get asked if it's ok that you get bread instead... you know? At first I was hesitant in leaving this review thinking that this place had just opened (that's the vibe I got from it at least), but given that reviews go back three years and especially given that the review was way too high, I thought this...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in on recommendation from our taxi driver. 1927 is a Maltese restaurant with a bit of English flair. The soup of the day was a fish soup that was spectacular. The tortellini with cream sauce, bacon, and mushrooms was outstanding. For our meal we had the sea bass with potatoes which was TOP notch, as well as mussels prepared in a tomato cream sauce which was fabulous. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars was that our server was just lacking attentiveness. They seem to have just hired a new server and another server (the owners uncle) was trying to cover for her. The food here was top notch and I would...
