White Wine And Food — Local services in Saint Julian's

A tiny gin and wine bar in Saint-Julian's that is not to be missed. The Italian owners of this cute place, decorated from wall to ceiling with gin bottles ordered by color, are very friendly land welcoming. Gin lovers: this is the place to be. What a collection!

The lovely lady of the house told us a bit about her life and the history of this bar. In summer time people come in to order a gin tonic and bring their glasses outside on the pavement to enjoy their drinks looking at the sea in the evening sun. She also stressed that in her bar everybody is welcome.

Prices were a little high, even compared to the same drinks in other European cities and especially for Malta and also for St. Gillian. They put a lot of ice in the drinks, only after requesting to reduce it, the barkeeper took it out and even added some more Gin to the drink. I'm not sure if the way they store the different Gins and Tonics does them a favour, as it gets quiete warm there. Unfortunately the street is noisy and smelly. Nothing this bar can do lots about, but it hinders the enjoyment of the drinks. The drinks were nicely...

Walked past, saw my favourite Italian gin. I double back and walked in. My path was blocked.

"Yes?" said the man forming a human barricade across the threshold.

"Oh, I wanted some Malfy gin," I said.

"Yes we have that," said the human barricade.

"I got the distinct impression he didn't want me to buy any gin which is a pity for me as I have been looking for this brand in Malta for a couple of weeks.

This was at 7pm on the Sunday before Xmas.

Any establishment that literally barricades the door to stop customers is not worth...
