We were really looking forward to our visit to Kora, but the experience was a major disappointment.
The pool was nothing like advertised — it looked much bigger online. In reality, it was overcrowded, extremely warm, and uncomfortable. We felt like sardines packed into a sauna. For the price we paid (€140), we expected a relaxing and premium environment, not a chaotic, overheated pool filled well beyond its comfortable capacity.
The loud music started at 11 AM and was completely inappropriate for a relaxing pool setting — it was more suited for a club, with heavy, hardcore beats that made it hard to even have a conversation.
Customer service was equally poor. Upon arrival, we paid cash for a gazebo and were not given a fiscal receipt. The staff member at reception gave no welcome, no instructions about the facilities, and no information at all — just took the cash and walked us to the gazebo. Later in the day, a friend joined and paid €50 for a deckchair — again, no receipt, no explanation. The receptionist seemed completely disengaged and more focused on her iPad than the guests.
Although the waiters were polite, the service was disorganized. Food took far too long to arrive, tables weren’t cleared for over an hour after eating, and we constantly had to call someone over — there was no attention to detail.
In the end, we left and went to the beach just to cool down. If we wanted a beach day, we wouldn’t have paid €140 for an overcrowded, overheated pool and poor service. Several other guests around us were complaining about the same issues.
We expected so much more from a place with Kora’s reputation. Unfortunately, this was not worth the time...
Read moreWe travelled to Malta for my partners birthday and booked Kora after seeing it on social media. After reading several negative reviews we nearly cancelled, but decided to make our own judgement of Kora.
Thank heavens we went. An absolutely beautiful venue, style and elegance personified . Panoramic views topped by the glowing sunset, we felt honoured. We were greeted affable smiles and seated swiftly.
My partner loves fish and I a Vegan, the perfect venue for us. Ample sharing portions served on stylish plates and bowls. Delicious, hummus, felafel, babaganoush, my partner with lamb Arronchini, lobster bisque Mussels. The wine menu was comprehensive and intelligent, we enjoyed our favourite, Cloudy Bay Sauvignon and some local Husky IPA.
The atmosphere was perfect with an excellent DJ playing seamlessly mixed soulful house. This brings me to the best part, all of the staff from management to the servers could not do enough to make you feel welcome. A birthday sorbet, sparklers and a staff chorus of 'Happy Birthday" topped a perfect evening, possibly the best ever.
A special mention and thanks must go to our main server 'Akshay' a perfect host and wonderful, gentleman, a credit to the...
Read moreVisited the restaurant for a friend’s birthday. We were all impressed by the chic ambiance at first, it genuinely has beautiful design choices throughout. The menu was interesting, cocktails slightly too inventive for my liking (just do the classics well in my books), and music was too loud for ambiance. Service was fine but got poorer and overall lacked the eye for detail expected at this price point - also no questions about intolerances or allergies (very, very important as it is their liability by law). Actual food off the menu was mixed: sushi was good enough, a member of our party ordered the lobster ravioli which were smothered in a cacophony of spices- definitely a choice (which we notified the servers about and they made an effort to replace it according to the person’s taste, so fair enough for that). Other orders for the table were the sea-bass and the cauliflower steak (bland) - they were fine enough but were mediocre at best. We did articulate our issues to the servers and they were apologetic and tried to compensate as best as they could at the end of the meal. Unfortunately, more style than substance here, premium pricing for just above...
