Avalon Golf Estate — Local services in Bois Chérie

This was my first time and I was very disappointed 🙄🙄🙄... I booked for a 3 course lunch + 1 hour Golf Initiation. Food was ok, though limited choice (don't book through Marideal as won't get a la carte Menu). The banana cinnamon roll made up for the limited choice. After the lunch, when I went for the Golf Initiation session, I was told that I should have made reservation. I was quite surprised to hear this, as I thought I already made my reservation and same was confirmed too. After much discussion, it seemed there was a miscommunication. My reservation was there in the system but not in the Golf club! Even though it was an error from their end, I was told "normalement pa ti pu kpv fer narien pu ou, mai pu fer 1 session 3pm vu ki session deja commencer". I was there on 20 September 2019 with 3 guests for lunch. We arrived at 12:00 and we were the first customers. Soon more came in for lunch. We were guided to the table that we had reserved immediately. The view from the restaurant on the south coast is simply WOW. We were given the menu as well as the list of cocktails as soon as we were seated. They offer a good selection of cocktails as well as mocktails (non alcoholic cocktails). The drinks were excellent. We had a platter tempura with our drinks. The starters were served as soon as we finished our drinks. I would highly recommend the Thai Beef Salad. Its excellent. I had grilled fish filet as my main dish and ended with a delicious apple crumble for dessert. Service is good and staff attentive. Price moderate. Excellent value for money....

Eating lunch at Avalon Golf Estate (Magic Spoon Restaurant) wasn't our initial plan, but we are delighted we chose to stop by. Food was simply delicious. The menu offers exotic Mauritian ingredients prepared in a delicate and sophisticated manner. Our favorite: the taro gnocchi with prawns. On the other side, although we finished our plate, we wouldn't order again the seafood gratin We personally found that the cheese and cream were overpowering the taste of the seafood. The service was up to standard. The waiters were attentive and professional, e.g. subtle cleaning of the table without being noticed, glasses not left empty, etc. The restaurant has a nice view over the golf court and you can see the ocean on the horizon.
