My recent golfing experience at Anahita Golf Club in Mauritius was a mix of genuine appreciation and some areas that could benefit from improvement. While the course itself was impressive and delivered a challenging round of golf, there were a few aspects that slightly affected the overall experience.
First and foremost, the golf course layout at Anahita Golf Club was truly exceptional. Designed by the renowned Ernie Els, it offered a harmonious blend of tropical beauty and challenging play. The fairways were meticulously maintained, and the greens were in excellent condition, providing a consistent and true roll. The views of the sparkling lagoon and lush greenery were awe-inspiring and added to the enjoyment of every swing.
The course's signature 17th & 18th hole, set against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, was a real highlight. It offered a dramatic finish and served as a fitting tribute to the natural beauty of Mauritius. As an avid golfer, I appreciated the variety of tee options, catering to players of different skill levels.
The staff at Anahita Golf Club were courteous and helpful. From the moment I arrived, they ensured a smooth check-in process and were attentive throughout my visit. The caddies, in particular, were knowledgeable and provided valuable insights that helped enhance my overall game.
An area that could be improved is the course's signage. Some holes were not as well-marked as others, leading to some confusion during navigation. Clearer signage and directional markers would greatly enhance the course's playability and ensure a smoother round for golfers.
In conclusion, Anahita Golf Club in Mauritius offers a genuine golfing experience amidst a stunning natural setting. The course design and well-maintained fairways make it a compelling choice for golf enthusiasts looking to enjoy a challenging round in paradise. While there were some minor areas for improvement, the overall experience was positive, and I would recommend Anahita Golf Club to fellow golfers seeking an authentic golfing adventure...
Read moreOur son in law from uk came to Mauritius and we booked the Anahita Golf and Spa Resort for 6 of us. We pre booked the golf course for him to use the first morning we were there ( there for 3 nights only). The staff at anahita and the golf course were so helpful and organised the booking for us. He thoroughly enjoyed it and was given a cart all to himself to use which made completing the 18 hole course much quicker than he would normally have taken with walking. He said it was a very nice course with sea views and well worth it. The weather was not very good but it...
Read moreThe setting is fabulous. Staff friendly, like in any 5 star Resort in Mauritius. Anahita, although they also offer hotel accommodation to tourists, they are an Integrated Resort Scheme (IRS) where most people who reside there are Xpats, having invested over $500,000 to obtain their fiscal domination, by residing in Mauritius for over 183 days for the first 2 years, thereafter 90 days per annum. With this scheme, you are granted a "permanent” residence for 3 years, thereafter renewable every 10 years, if you still own the property...
