Île aux Benitiers — Local services in La Gaulette

Very shallow warm waters with lots of parrot fish and zebras, also snake cucumbers. There are many boat trips here with bbq on the beach which is nice but of you head to la gaulette Harbour, ask for Beb's cruises (Bernard) and he will take you over for your own picnic or wherever you want. Highly recommend doing this as we went after everyone had gone home and it was beautiful. We circled crystal rock and Beb pointed out all the landmarks to us, very knowledgeable man. Completely overrated island! We were here to have a lunch after a boat tour. Actually, the beach is really nice and, like everywhere else in Mauritius, the nature (trees, bushes) looks good. However, there is no infrastrucure at all (no water, no toilettes). On this island, everyday hundreds of people are coming for lunch. And this is why you do not leave the beach: Either they go into the forests, this is why there is so much waste there, or they go into the ocean. Yummy! This is my favourite island. Île aux Bénitiers is practically untouched, and so peaceful.

We had a dolphin trip in a speed boat which is forever engraved in our mind. And landed on this beautiful and practically untouched Island for lunch. We enjoyed the barbecue.
