What an amazing experience at a special and inspirational place! Do not hesitate to book this to see another side of Xochimilco. If you are even a little bit interested in birds, agriculture, history, or just escaping the city for a few precious hours, you will not be disappointed. This group is doing very important work affecting grassroots change in this area and without support from locals and tourists, this beautiful haven will be absorbed into the city.

We traveled peacefully by canoe to a chinampa, met and learned from the chinamperos who do the educated and physical work of farming the floating garden in conjunction with the ecosystem (and not against it), and shared a delicious and culturally relevant breakfast before heading back in the canoe. It’s a historical area worth our attention and preservation.

We can’t wait to go back, and you won’t be disappointed if you...

We did the sunrise canoe tour which included breakfast, farm tour with Carlos and another local tour guide, Montse who was there to help. We contacted Carlos via what’s app on the website. Even though it was a Monday, Carlos accommodated our schedule and gave us a tour. The canals were beautiful and seeing the serenity at sunrise was amazing. It’s truly an immersive experience, we learned a lot about the history, the farming and Carlos made it feel like we were long friends, answering every question and giving perspective to the area. His English was impeccable which allowed free flowing and in depth conversations. We also were able to ask Montse in-depth questions about Mexican culture, day of the dead customs, diego rivera. She was extremely knowledgeable and we will come back to take her custom tours in the future. Her company is...

Our experience in Xochimilco with you was simply magical! From the beginning, navigating the canals in cayuco, and exploring the ecosystem between so much calm and silence is a unique way to get to know Xochimilco. Then upon arrival they made us feel very welcome and were very attentive to us guides as well as customers. We loved the opportunity to hand pick up some of the ingredients on the farm that later became part of our delicious food, while learning from them. Adela like all the people who helped us get there and cook are a love, and make cooking something educational and fun. The most impressive thing is to be able to have this experience in a city as big and bustling as CDMX, it seems that you...

This an absolutely incredible experience! My husband and I have been to CDMX many times and we’ve wanted to go to Xochimilco but we just couldn’t find the right experience until now. It answered our yearning to learn more about the area’s cultural significance and its history. We appreciated Carlos’ passion and commentary on the Chinampas, the farm, the food, and more. We’ve done many AirBnB experiences and cooking classes around the world, but this stands out as the most rewarding one. If you want to truly understand the importance of Xochimilco, then go on this experience and leave with a fully belly and heart! Muchas gracias, Carlos y Adela!
