I took a pottery workshop here, and the experience was quite nice and the instructor was a very sweet person! However the promise of the workshop was that I would get to keep what I make, and they told us in a few days we would get it. One week later, I heard nothing so I messaged and they said sorry a few more days. Another week goes by and I still heard nothing, so I message again and they said due to personal issues they haven’t been able to fire my projects but that they can offer me other things that others have made. I was very disappointed as I really wanted my projects, but said if it’s impossible I’d take other pieces. They said that they’d get it fired and delivered to me before I leave, which was 3-4 days away from then. Read moreOur pottery class was held at this studio and it was one of the favorite stops of our trip. Oaxaca is filled with many artisan goods and sometimes many look similar. This was not the case with Casa Blanco, they have a very unique style of ceramics that is shared amongst their family. We got some awesome pieces to take home and later in our trip saw casa blanco pieces at some of the galleries in the city and enjoyed knowing who made them and the stories behind them! Definitely want to come back...
