Hit Oaxaca for the first time with one of my best friends after talking about it for years. We wanted to immerse ourselves in the culture of Mezcal and not just simply do a tasting tour. Antonio delivered above and beyond! He took us to two different distilleries where we got to see the process from different perspectives and, of course, tasted a ton of mezcal with him guiding us along the way! I’ve never learned so much while drinking haha but seriously Antonio is incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, accommodating, and talented too as he is a fourth generation mezcal master! During the lunch you will get to try some of his genius mezcal creations and buy it as well! I rarely write reviews but I feel like Antonio is a family member after our day of touring with him and next time we go back to Oaxaca, best believe we will be touring with him again! This tour was absolutely amazing! Antonio is a mezcal maker himself, so he knows everything about the history and production process. On our drive to the distilleries he gave a full lecture on mezcal. We visited two amazing distilleries. Unlike I’ve ever seen on a tour of this kind. We saw the agave being cut and cooked on fire. We saw the grinding using a horse. Best of all, we could participate in every step of the process whenever we wanted! Two elaborate tastings where we basically could taste everything we wanted. And that was a lot. The variety in the different types of mezcal was fantastic. The scenery in the valley and on the farms was beautiful. The drive was very comfortable in a luxurious car. And we also went to a local market for a very delicious lunch! I cannot recommend this tour enough to anyone looking for a very interesting and nice day...

Absolutely amazing evening tasting experience with Antonio, we visited his distillery and learned so much about Mezcal. We went from knowing virtually nothing to understanding so much about the way mezcal is made and how to differentiate between different types. We focused a lot on tasting notes and learning how to taste accurately but in a really relaxed and chilled environment. We would 100% recommend the experience, it was really worth the money and we felt we came away with a lot of knowledge and a great introduction into mezcal. There was such a great variety of mezcals to try that were rare and not available in shops.
