We stayed in the penthouse for one week at the end of March. Pros: Location - the beach is phenomenal, the outdoor area is so welcoming, well organized and conducive to enjoying time and meals together. It’s close to Canun, Puerto Morales and Playa del Carmen for day trips. The house has everything you need but it’s definitely not luxurious - more like a family cottage. All staff and host are very friendly and helpful. Dogs on the property are great. Beach was cleaned of Sargassum every day and as a result was one of the best spots for swimming. Lots of beach area for long walks Nice and private except for any tenants on the lower level.
Cons: Some of the beach equipment needs replacing - the paddle board leaked so much we couldn’t carry it back up the beach and the paddle is not very rigid. The loft with room for 4 is not very practical, it has a tight cylindrical staircase with two low beams at the top so any reasonably sized adult needs to bend over significantly to get in or out. There is no washroom up there so you’d have the beams and stairs to contend with if you get up at night. If there are people staying in the lower level you’ll need to be accommodating with regard to sharing the outdoor areas and beach equipment. We actually met some wonderful people staying on the lower level but it may not be what you’re looking for on a vacation.
We had a fantastic relaxing time at Casa Chanty - the location and views make it so you can’t help but unwind....
Read moreLove Love Love! We booked both the up + downstairs apartments for my family and it was fantastic stay and I highly recommend! We only needed 5 bedrooms but loved the relaxed feeling andprivacy of having the whole courtyard (pool, cabana, table, etc) that we got by booking both spaces. Cristina was the perfect host, excellent communicator and had the best recommendations. We hired her massage crew, she shuttle driver, a baby sitter and most importantly her wonderful Chef Beto. Chef Beto was a signature to our trip as we hired him to cook for us each night. It was perfect with fresh blended drinks to start, fresh chips + salsa + quac and then a fantastic dinner that he went to the moon and back to create. Example, on our seafood night, he cooked over 7 different types od seafood for us in 5 different ways. He cooks all day to serve you a feast at night. Definitely do the mayan dinner! We'd end with dessert or fresh fruit before taking a sunset walk on the beach. Beats any all inclusive! Albert (on-site manager) has a ton of pride in there place and it shows! The cleaning crew was excellent and loved having them come and tidy up mid week. We made lifetime memories here and can't wait to return to Casa Chanty- a perfect name for a qaint house by the sea. Just perfect! Note* We worked with Cristina via WhatsApp and Wise (money transfer). Smooth, easy, and saved all of us $ than booking...
Read moreI have just returned from Casa Chanty and miss it so much already. We stayed in the penthouse and the views are just amazing, better than you could even imagine. We spent days just being in the water and enjoying the home. We also traveled to Puerto Morelos which is an inviting village with lots of restaurants and shops. We traveled to PDC but did not enjoy it was much-very crowded and too touristy. There is sargasso everywhere right now so be prepared for that-but the caretakers at Casa Chanty did their best to keep up with it. It did not interfere with our enjoyment. The only small criticism is the caretaker does smoke-this is listed as a non-smoking property so that was a little upsetting for us but did not get in the way of our having a near perfect vacation. Cristina made booking so, so easy. Don't delay from booking this slice of paradise. I can't...
