The prices change buy agency, reception… It seems organized but with some failures. Our guide was running, she did not encourage the group to stay together, she was the element that, accelerating the pace, spaced the group. Did not talk much about interesting topics, or particularities of the location to create interest on us, She didn't seem like a specialized or professional person to me. She left us at the food place, with almost no information to know which van we were going in, I had to ask someone... anyway, it seemed to me that she just wanted to catch the next excursion. She wasn't empathetic at all... but, confident she was for sure, walking so fast, it seemed to me that she didn't understand the profession of being a guide. She even force us to do an evaluation in front of her, during the moment we were in the changing rooms area, in front of the lockers, she kept the papers, not allowing us to evaluate the food for example. Besides that we appreciate the fact that she was bilingual. Even though we used lockers I was lucky enough to take my padlock, because the one they gave me was rusty and could barely close or open. They force customers to sign that paper, the document expresses that we agree not to sue the place in the event of an accident… but the way they present it is as if it were just an information paper, asking us to rush on signing it, there are mixed sections of information, in other words, it is a contract, a questionnaire and a form at the same time. And, it seems to me that there is no safety whatsoever during the route- the guide herself does not carry a radio or a first aid bag. I think this is a horrible lack of security. We are not allowed to take pictures, there is an official photographer. We wanted 3 pictures they ask us for 15000mx around 80 dollars- is just a joke. We did not want all because some where not good, and they had ours and the group pictures, to all would be around 100 dollars, to one would be 30 dollars, insane. Well will not express more… not the best admin, or even org.. Not even the guide. The nature of the place is amazing -...
Read moreGuides both for transportation and in the cave itself were great. They took time to educate and share both about the cave and their local culture. Amazing and beautiful inside. Some places were tricky to navigate since it's kind of hard to see the rocks and places where you are stepping but they provided PVC canes and that helped. 1 star short because, as several other reviews mention no photography and I totally agree. The very expensive photos they will sell you are how they make their money. Kind of sad to not have some way to remember how beautiful it was. Drop the price on photos and I think they would still sell a lot of them. Several people in our group didn't buy any. ...
Read moreThis was offered as an excursion by Carnival. We booked it in a hurry, thinking it was a cenote snorkeling trip. Boy were we wrong! This swimming trip through a beautiful cave was light years beyond our expectations. We loved every second of it! We are a couple of old cavers, and this was like being in heaven. Our daughter said she thought our faces were going to split we were grinning so much! We never buy the pictures, but we bought these! They are a treasured memento of the trip, and I didn't have to wrangle my camera in a river! Worth.Every.Penny. The food, the peek into their culture, and the sheer beauty of the cave were all fabulous. The highlight of...
