We had the pleasure of staying at the Miramar unit 401 the beginning of June. The condo is very nice and well stocked. It had basic spices, plenty of cookware and even had coffee and filters (whether or not these were left by previous guests I’m not sure) The welcome basket of fresh fruit from Matias and Isabella of Seaside Retreats was definitely a welcome treat. The condo is a short cab ride to town. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance if you don’t mind a longer walk, maybe 25 minutes. The taxis are easily accessible from the hotel next door. The grocery stores are on the other side of town but still a short taxi ride away. Matias was extremely helpful and accommodating on numerous occasions. There was a local gentleman named Ezekiel who I believe was the caretaker of the condo. He was always available for any help that we needed whether it be to help with our luggage, replace the water jug or help put up a pool umbrella. The water is beautiful but the current is extremely strong and snorkeling was definitely challenging. Sitting on the balcony watching the sunset was definitely a highlight and the pool is amazing. I would definitely recommend this unit and Matias and Isabella with Seaside Retreats for a...
Read moreWe stayed on the bottom floor with our two children. We had a two bed two bath unit. The bathroom could use an update, but no real complaints. We enjoyed our stay. I would assume each unit is different. We really enjoyed the pool area. The pool had an amazing view. While the part closest to the condominiums is a regular sunken pool, the part near the sea is only a couple inches deep. It was perfect for sitting on/in with friends the whole day. In this area there is a sunken hot tub, but we weren't sure how to turn it on. To the south end of the pool area there are stairs down to the sea where you can snorkel. There are also showers and two hamocks. There is not much right nearby except other housing. This place is not located downtown, but is a quick cab ride down for amazing food. Try and go to the museum resteraunt (upstairs) and get the Mexican platter. If you want a little more but don't want downtown, to the north there is also a great beach club, Buccanos, that is either a very short can ride or a not too long walk where they offer food and drink...
Read moreMy wife and I loved our condo here- #401. The view was amazing - master bedroom and living room looked right out on the water with only a palm tree to obscure any view. The location is perfect, I think. North of town where it’s a bit more quiet, but an easy 7-10 minute drive (or taxi ride) into town depending on where you’re headed.
The feel of the place is relaxed and friendly. Generally you might find a few other guests at the pool to chat with or not, depending on how you roll. You can climb down a ladder into the Caribbean and in a minute you’re snorkeling and seeing fish.
If all of that weren’t good enough, the best part may be the people who own/take care of the condos. Matt aka Matias is a gem of a human being- kind and so helpful with so many recommendations- places to go, restaurants to eat at, a great gym rec if that’s your thing. And the staff who take care of you - Ezekiel is on the property seemingly 24/7 if you need anything and Cruz cleans the unit every other day.
This is an ideal place to stay. Highly recommended. We’ll...
