We came as an excursion the 1st time with a bus of people and it wasnt a pleasent ride, no Ac on the bus and very squashed. Only stop offs to shops and tourists spots to buy pittery etc.....so to save time we came by ourselves the 2nd time in our own hire car.... and although it's beautiful here and a great day trip we noticed there are 2 menus 1 for locals and 1 for tourists obviously it's the way in Morocco but it was abit extreme for what we had and the food quality was not upto the standard that we have had in alot of other places in Morocco... we sat in the water on chairs and table with little fish swimming aroumd which was lovely on a hot day. After what you think is a lovely day, they do not come to the table with a bill instead they wait for you to leave and then come to the men at the entrance with your bill whom tell you what the amount is befire you go to your bus or car...abit weird but again that's their way. Theres a charge for tourists tonuse the facilities...I felt abit intimated and didn't have the same price in my head they charged which was a 400dh difference 😅 so use your phone to take pictures of the menu and add what you buy... they charge for the water you...

I strongly suggest everyone to NOT join the overpriced local tour. Few ever mentioned it in any reviews but we managed to take a public bus No.25 which departs every 20 minutes from Marrakesh city centre, it costs only MAD7.5 each trip and you reach Ourika town in around 1 hour. It’s then 1.5 hour’s walk through the local village which is easy to do and there’s so much to see. We ended up by the river which is much wider and calmer than that visited by many other tourists. We had a nice chill out by the river, few tourists, and it’s another local public bus trip back to Ourika town which only costed MAD5. Why pay 30 EUROS for a tour, when you can do it all on your own at your own pace and escape the crowds?

Edit: I added more photos I took during the village walk. It took 1.5 hours, very easy to do, just make sure you bring enough water especially if you are doing...

AD 🇲🇦 4 must-do activities in Morocco ⬇️ you need to add to your travel bucket list:⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 1. Atlas Mountains Full Day Tour. On this activity you will hike through the Ourika Valley and be immersed the culture of the Berber peoples. After the hike you’ll enjoy a complimentary Moroccan lunch at a riverside restaurant before making a stop at a local village where you’ll learn how the Berber women make argan oil. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 2. ATV quad biking - if you don’t have time to visit the Sahara desert, this is the next best activity for exploring Morocco’s arid landscapes, just outside of Marrakech. you’ll be whizzing your way through palm trees and wide open plains. You’ll make a stop to refuel with some Moroccan mint tea and snacks before hitting the road again. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 3. Go horse riding along the sandy shores of Essaouira. At Ranch de Diabat Horse Riding School they will take you on a walk across the beach atop your trusty stead. I even had a go at galloping but I definitely preferred the relaxed slow pace so I could really take in all the views of this hidden gem in Morocco. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 4. Marrakech Street Food Tour - follow your guide across Marrakesh’s bustling medina to sample a variety of Moroccan food. We tried everything from spicy sardine sandwiches, pastille, pastries, Moroccan omelette & yoghurt, fruit smoothies, olives and even boiled snails! If you happen to visit during Ramadan, you’ll also get to experience iftar - the first meal Muslims eat when they break their fast.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Discover more epic activities in Morocco with @visit_morocco_ & @tripadvisor⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ #visitMorocco #Morocco #moroccotravel⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Best things to do in Morocco | Places to visit in Morocco | Things to do in Marrakech | Activities to do in Morocco | Things to do and see in Morocco | Marrakech Attractions | Places to visit in Marrakech | Marrakech Must See | Marrakech Day Trip Tours | Hiking Atlas Mountains Morocco | Atlas Mountains Tour | Ourika Valley Day Trip | Ourika Valley from Marrakech | Ourika Valley Waterfall | Quad biking Marrakech | Food in Marrakech | Morocco Street Food | Marrakech Food Tour | Marrakech Food Guide | Marrakech Medina | Morocco travel tips | Morocco Travel
