It’s not easy getting to Mama’s, although the trip there – via car and speed boat - was half the fun.||I had no real idea what to expect, but the first sighting of Mama’s, a glorious lodge overlooking the sea, was a terrific first impression.||I piled in with several mates and their daughters for a fun long weekend. Rooms were cosy and well appointed with an appreciation of the island’s natural surroundings. There was tons of space and with the kitchen open and central, this became a natural hive of activity. The lodge is perfect for entertaining and socialising, with ample space and comfort, whether we were sitting around the massive iron wood table or at the outdoor area with its welcoming fireplace.||With running water and electricity, plus comfortable beds and clean and inviting bathroom areas, the lodge was both luxurious and practical. My room was large with a king-sized bed, plus a glorious view over the ocean.||We tended to spend much time in and around the water – fishing, boating and snorkelling – but we also visited other islands nearby and traipsed into the local village, which was fun and lively with trinkets and fresh produce on sale.||It truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience with host Roland going out of his way to make it magical and memorable.||I can’t...

The place is exactly as described in the pictures with a breath taking view and extremely friendly stuff that is very attentive. You will not be disappointed and it's very quite and peaceful.

It has a fully equipped kitchen and bar( you will have to pay for that thou).

A few things that I would advise guests to take note of. The place gives guests 2GB data for your entire stay, so I'd advise you buy data before you get to the place. I bought a sim card with 10GB #data before going to the island, it cost about R350.

Taking a ferry to the island will take about 3 hours or so and it cost about 600MT (about R150). If you wanna get there quicker I'd advise you take a skipper boat which costs more but takes about 45 minutes to get there.

If you want explore the island without getting lost there are tour guides that charge about 500mt per day.

Other than that, I highly recommend this place as I enjoyed my stay and might go back. But with a bigger...

This was such an epic getaway. The location is superbly perched on the top of a hill overlooking the astonishing bay. Pink and rose-gold sunsets were enjoyed with fresh coconuts in the infinity pool. The rooms are so comfortable I drifted off into dreamland more relaxed than I’ve been in a very long time. The beautiful open plan kitchen dining area is so well designed, it’s great for socialising with your company or just getting creative with cooking. It feels like you are a part of the surroundings with the “always open” architecture, and I felt so safe and well taken care of. The coral reef is breathtaking and snorkelling was a real highlight. I was even able to kitesurf the day the wind was blowing. All round it’s been one of my best island trips ever. The island doesn’t feel too busy, so I really could tap into that inner peace. I can’t wait to go again!!

This is my go-to place on Inhaca to stay! The house itself is beautifully designed: breezy, with lots of natural materials and light. It is one of the most well equipped places, including the kitchen utensils, (beach)towels, some snorkels etc. The staff is attentive, with extra small touches like a welcome drink, helping with organising transport, and making sure windows are shut and mosquito nets down in the evening. Finally: the location is stunning, with a hill view over the bay and the sunset, and when you walk down you have acces to the quiet beach. It would be good to note that it may not be very accessible for less mobile persons as it is on a hill with stairs and most alternative routes are unpaved, but I think this is the case for most of the island.
