Read moreThis Street called Old bazaar of Pokhara was a famous market street in the past. So far i hear from older people this current street was a paved walkaway and different stores and shops used to be here. Specially some merchants of Pokhara used to go to Tibet for the rock salt or mined salt from tibet to sell in retail for the people of valley and surrounding hilly people as they used to come to buy necessary things in this bazaar.
Now that market is overshadowed by a new market called Mahendrapool. There are still the previous names on the street of old bazaar which are Mohariya tole, Bhimsen tole, Bhairab tole , Ganesh tole etc. Some of those old houses which similarly in newari structure still can be seen.
