Lidl — Local services in Eindhoven

Location is pretty central for the Gestel Borough. Its also close to a bus stop so decently connected to public transit as well. There's plenty of parking for cars and bicycles and even chargers for e-bikes.

The supermarket has a wide variety of items, some are tastier then the AH and Jumbo imo. You will certainly save money by doing weekly shopping here instead of those supermarkets as almost everything is cheaper here. They also sometimes have items that are almost about to expire for a huge discount, I try to look for those.

My favourite part of the supermarket is the bakery as they always have very fresh and high quality breads for a cheap price, I like to grab some before I head to the station or for breakfast the next day.

Be aware of the long lines at the counter sometimes though, the supermarket seems to be suffering from the same worker shortage as many other companies. This is probably the reason why the opening times changed and the shop closes at 9pm instead of 10pm on weekdays nowadays, its a little disappointing but completely understandable given the situation.

The staff is usually also really friendly...

In this store I experienced hateful and inappropriate behavior of an employee to single out a customer in the middle of a store and ask if I was going to pay for items in the shopping bag repeatedly. When asked why, it was explicitly stated in a mocking way on my face that it was because of my skin color. It is insulting to say the least and worst yet very racist. Are you as a major store endorsing racist behavior? Are brown people judged as thieves by lidl? I have heard and seen about checking peoples bag at the counter, but not inside the store judging if a customer is going to pay for items in the...

Laadpaal: bij mijn vorige bezoek was de paal bezet door een stinkbak dus deze keer maar zaterdag net na openingstijd gegaan. Na dik 2 1/2 uur laden wat resulteerde in ruim +25% in mijn geval zo'n 6 KWh is duidelijk dat deze laadpaal prima voor thuisgebruik is maar dat je er voor de wekelijkse boodschappen gewoon té weinig aan hebt om daar met pasjes en losse kabels voor te gaan lopen klooien, dan zorg ik liever dat de diepvries of koelkast thuis wat vlotter geladen is. Dus Lidl, opwaarderen naar minstens 7 KWh maar dan schiet het eigenlijk nog wat tekort.

Indeling is zoals anderen eerder ook al hebben opgemerkt gewoon stupide, je neemt je klanten gewoon niet serieus zo. Kan best zijn dat het wat extra omzet genereert maar wat mij betreft gaat de waardering harder omlaag. Mooi ook dat de diepvries sectie bij kassa 1 uit komt maar dat die niet open was en ik me uiteindelijk moeizaam door de rijen wachtenden naar kassa 8 heb moeten werken. Kassa's bij de diepvriezers zouden meer prioriteit moeten krijgen, had persoonlijk ook liever gezien dat de koeling niet zo dicht bij de ingang zou zitten. Verder werd bij het vullen de pallets wel heel onhandig neergezet, een medewerker blokkeerde de doorgang door een doos in de krappe doorgang botweg te laten staan en wat anders te doen. Gelukkig was de stemming tussen de klanten onderling bovengemiddeld goed. Wel was het een zooitje zoals ik nog niet eerder heb meegemaakt in dit filiaal, missende labels, verkeerde producten bij de labels en lege schappen. Ik kan nog wel even doorgaan maar zal het...
