This is at the same time a very beautiful and a very doable hike of about 2 hours up and 1,5 hours down, mostly through very lush forest that shelters you from the sun. The path ascends gradually, there are just a few short sections with rock stairs, and every level of relative fitness will make it to the rim. Even if you only have a few hours on the island during a one-day visit from a neighbouring island, make sure to hike at least a part of this trail. You...

The hike to the top and in the crater of the Quill is probably the most amazing hike I've ever done! The views are amazing (especially when looking into the crater from the top), the nature is beautiful, and the hike itself is very adventurous with parts that include climbing (the ropes were a big help). In most parts of the hike it is very easy to find the right way, since they indicated this with orange ribbons around tree trunks and...

Nice hike. Go to Mazinga, on the ridge. Second highest point of the vulcano, where you can climb on a rock higher than the trees. This spot gives a 360 view, but keep in mind: once you climb up, you have to come down.

I felt that the higher you get, the more this hike turns into a climb, which is especially true for the descent into the crater. It probably didn’t help that on my day it was super hot and humid followed by torrential rain! Nevertheless, the nature is amazing, very lush and green and the smell was amazing, and lots of land crabs on the way!
