Avondale Golf Club — Local services in Christchurch

We started this morning just after 8am. 4/7724. Me and my cousin are still learning golf , so on a par 3 we had used 2 balls as we want to get better , there was absolutely no one else on the course ! Or we wouldn't do it, we got to our 3rd whole and some little smurff that said "I am the committee" thinks he can talk down and yell at people. And come over aggressively and tell us to "get off his golf course". I don't think this is acceptable behavior from someone that says "he is the committee" this really doesn't make us feel wanted or want to even play the game we are starting to enjoy. We usually play at the dale as we find the course amazing. But these staff members need to learn how to talk to people and stop "power tripping".

Had an awful experience at Avondale. My friend and I went to pay and the lady at the counter didn’t let us play as we were sharing clubs. She said “I’ve had enough of you young people trying to play when there’s people paying hundreds of dollars to play.” I felt personally degraded as a young student trying to enjoy a beautiful Tuesday afternoon playing the great game of golf. We’ve played there countless times before in the same situation and always let people through when they get remotely close to us. She was aggressive and made us feel like we’d committed a crime. She also didn’t know what the word ‘inclusive’ meant which says a lot for a sixty something year old pakeha women. God...

Manager Maggie was great, friendly and gave me a great deal with the clubs and trundle included. I went back a second day as I enjoyed the course very much- narrow and challenging but very good for a social player. The greens were great and the fairway very neat and well kept.A good challenge but very forgiving- a good mix of 3 pars, 4s and 5 Pars. Will revisit when I'm back in Christchurch- Better then other snobby...
