Bargain Me Speciality Supermarket — Local services in Christchurch

When they opened, I really hoped for something similar to Reduced to Clear and Why Knott (Auckland). Both companies sell products that are past the "best before" date or are "end of line" products, all for a pretty good price.

Unfortunately Bargain Me is turning into a normal store, with a wider range of international products. You can find those products in other stores already though, leaving that big gap for an actual "clearance" store in Chch.

The name just doesn't really work anymore in my opinion. It drifted further away from the premises the owner made when opened, as mentioned in some news articles...

I pulled up in the car park to do some shopping at 2 men from BargainMe immediately came over to me, accusing me of going to the pub and not their store. They were shouting that the car park is for the supermarket only. I said I was going to the supermarket, but they kept yelling that I was going to the pub. Of note, there were plenty of car parks available. I'm not very well at the moment and left in tears, feeling very frightened and intimidated - and hungry! All the products here are extremely expensive. The shop itself isn't overly tidy or welcoming at all. The staff are unfriendly and the man on the till today had absolutely no customer service skills. Stood there using his cell phone the entire time while we were being served & didn't look up once. "Bargain" should not be represented in the title of this store.
