Family owned and operated orchards
My husband and I went there and picked our own. These were our observations:
Very hospitable family team that know how to communicate with customers in a proper way. Met the initial owner Arthur who is 94 years of age and yet still up and around like a 30-year-old. Also, we met a lady Yvonne who has a very pleasant and likeable personality. She’s very associate about his father’s business. His son Anthony is working hard but we couldn’t speak to him.
Strawberries are elevated up from the ground, growing in two layers of shelves; therefore, it’s easy to pick without bending and yet the strawberries are still very tasty.
3.Very clean and well-maintained operation.
Strawberry PYO is going to close by the end of this month. Apple picking will start in April.

Cost was $7 per kg and no entrance fee (for context, Good Planet up the road charges $5 entrance fee and $30 per 3kg bucket…), plus she was lovely and said we could snack on some berries while picking, which heaps of places don’t allow anymore. They use hydroponic stands to grow the strawberries which means you’re not bent over the whole time, which is another plus. This is 100% going to be our new annual strawberry spot, and we’ll be back in April for apple picking as well. Highly highly...
Read moreGreat strawberry picking experience. Strawberries were grown on a hydroponic system which made it a lot easier on my back. It would be great for elderly, pregnant people, kids, and people with mobility issues. I recommend going early when they just open as it was good at the start but I was struggling to find ripe ones to pick by about midday. Price is very reasonable at $7/kg. You can bring your own containers which they will tare for you and remove the weight from the total cost. The field was also nice and flat and not muddy so no need to...
