First time there and left with no coffee and a refund after repeating our quite simple coffee order 3 times to the girl serving who then got interrupted by who I assume is the manager. He failed to listen to the girl and got our order wrong and blamed us for him not putting our order through correctly. While we were waiting for our refund he then interrupted and took over from the next worker who was taking orders.
Edit to reply to the owner's response - We repeated our order to the girl 3 times, and prior to that we asked if the cafe has almond milk to which she said yes. You never asked us or read the order back to us, you asked the worker and then told us how much the order was so as far as we were concerned the order was correct. It has nothing to do with the extra cost, we expect that with different types of milk, and we would have happily paid the extra $1.60 however it was your attitude towards us that was the problem. As a small business owner I would have thought that you would be able to do right by your customers or at least be apologetic.
Edit to the new owner, as requested I emailed (twice) but have not...
$22 for smashed avo seems to be the norm these days, but the meal delivered was below average. Two pieces of toast spread with avocado that seemed to have come from a puree squeeze bottle, topped with a small handful of halved cherry tomatoes and a single poached egg where the white was still runny. Far from satisfactory or filling. The flat white was the perfect temperature, but that kind of bitterness that almost instantly gives you a headache. The service was friendly, and the ambience was pleasing - bravo. I considered a custard square, but they all appeared dry and imploding from a lack of moisture. Lastly, as per their menu, they offered a $5 discount for giving them a 5-star review on social media. Sorry, but it's not worth it. Recommend you look to Midpoint Cafe (Hobsonville Rd) or Bread and Butter Milford for...
Read moreI recently visited this cozy café and tried their "Salmon Benny" it was an absolute delight! The dish was beautifully presented, with perfectly poached eggs nestled on a crispy, flavorful base, topped with creamy hollandaise sauce and fresh greens. The smoked salmon on the side added a rich, savory touch that paired wonderfully with the rest of the dish.
The portion size was just right, and every bite was bursting with flavor. The attention to detail in both the presentation and taste truly stood out. The café itself had a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better.
If you're a fan of eggs Benedict or just looking for a delicious brunch spot, I highly recommend giving this place a try! I'll definitely be back to explore more...
