A knock on the door, there was no one there. The man stood alone head heavy, he had just been pranked. He had heard of these on the news, these wild 'pranks' that youths did to assert independence. They'd upload these acts of rebellion onto the 'world wide web' as a way to rally youths too scared to act on their own. It was working too. Minors everywhere had started spreading mayhem, it always started with something trivial like fakes knocks on the doors but would quickly escalate to gang beatings, murder, even genocide. The man closed the door. In wake of what had just happened he needed a pick me up. He went to this beach....

Historically, Whale Bay was a popular location for Māori to launch their early whaling missions. It is an amazingly beautiful beach with crystal white sand. Currently extremely popular for fishing, mussel, and crayfish hunting.

To get there you need to do the track. Starting at the Whale Bay car park, a gravel surfaced track leads through the bush and down to the bay. The track is about half a kilometer but there are some steep steps to negotiate so moderate fitness is needed to do the track.

Dogs are not allowed, and toilet and parking facilities...
